The Dark Knight Rises (2012)

Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy (Part 3)

After the massive critical and commercial success of THE DARK KNIGHT, Warner Brothers naturally wanted Director Christopher Nolan to return for a third film in the franchise.

While he was initially unsure about returning, he eventually did come back to finish out the Dark Knight Trilogy in a film that would become the most divisive in the entire trilogy, though it would eventually become the highest grossing Batman film so far.

In this episode, the Cinema Shock crew will discuss how Nolan and his brother Jonathan, along with David S. Goyer, broke the story that would become THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, and how they attempted to not only follow-up the most successful comic book film of all time, but do something that's rare in big studio franchises: bring the story to a definitive end.
